Museum Art Classes Hands-on, minds-on learning! These studio classes allow young artists ages 4 to 18 to explore the museum’s collections while discovering their own creativity. Each week includes studio time and gallery visits. Want to take a class at the same time as your child? Check out Studio Classes for Adults on Fridays and Saturdays. For classes for 2- to 4-year-olds on Fridays and Saturdays, see My Very First Art Class.
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
1, 2, 3, What Do You See? (Ages 4–5) Learn to look at the world like an artist. Explore line, shape, color, and more through drawing, painting, collaging, and building. We’ll see and make something new each week.
Museum Arts-capade (Ages 6–8) Explore the galleries and be inspired by colors, patterns, shapes, and textures, then try your hand at still-life painting, marbling, collaging, printmaking, and constructing papier-mâché and kinetic creations.
Creative Challenges (Ages 9–13) Develop your creativity and show off your personal style as we complete weekly art challenges, from finding imaginative ways to use ordinary objects to trying new techniques and incorporating unusual materials. We don’t know what you’ll make, but we know it will be fun!
1:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
Graphic Novel / Art Book Studio (Ages 14–18) Learn the creative process of writing, laying out, and illustrating (using pen and ink, paint, or collage) your own 16-page graphic novel or art book. All skill levels.
